New Directions
New Directions, located on Detroit's East Side, is a residential facility that provides a safe, therapeutic environment for adolescents ages 12 to 18, who are experiencing cognitive impairments and emotional disorders.
New Directions offers well-rounded treatment and social experiences to address the special needs of intellectually and behaviorally challenged adolescents.
New Directions offers adolescents and their families:
- Academic instruction and special education services provided by Detroit Public Schools
- Daily tutoring
- Individual and family counseling
- Art therapy
- Summer camp
- Religious services to meet individual family requests
