Responding in Christian Love: Many children and families today are struggling. Struggling with abuse, neglect, substance abuse and complex family issues.
LCFS is a beacon of hope for those children and families who are struggling. LCFS provides this hope through the work of compassionate staff, volunteers, foster parents and adoptive parents, with comprehensive, statewide programs that meet or exceed client needs. LCFS is a Recognized Service Organization (RSO) of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and is also Accredited by the Council of Accreditation.
LCFS of Michigan provides:
- Over 13,000 children, individuals and families with services annually
- 25 office locations, with regional headquarters in Bay City, Grand Rapids and Metropolitan Detroit
- State-wide adoption services
- Foster care services

Multiple models of Family Preservation Services to keep children safely in their own homes
- Individual and family counseling
- Substance abuse services for individuals and families
- Three Residential Care Facilities that provide a safe, stable living environment for emotionally and mentally impaired young people
- Support services to pregnant and parenting teens
- Employment for more than 375 employees
- An operating budget of more than $23 million, 90 percent of which goes directly to programs and services
